The Juggling Club

The Juggling Club aspires to establish a creative, goal-oriented way for United soccer players become more technical. Juggling alone is not something that can be used to determine a soccer players ability, however it is a useful to develop "ball mastery" to develop better touch on the ball. Recognizing players for their hard work encourages independent growth…and is key ingredient to player development!

Rules -

  1. Every Touch Counts. Players may use their feet and other “soccer legal” body parts. All touches count toward the total number of juggles. Players must return to zero if the ball hits the ground. (Ex. Left foot, right foot, thigh, right foot would count as four touches.)

  2. Honor System. Players do not need an adult to count or be present. Players are responsible for accurately counting and reporting the number of touches to their coach.

  3. Levels Of Achievement. The Juggling Club has multiple levels of achievement to encourage club-wide participation.

    • Levels: 5, 10, 15, 25, 35, 50, 75, *100, *300+

    • Players who achieve the 100 and 300+ levels will receive a The Juggling Club shirt recognizing their ball mastery.

  4. Reporting: The players, once reaching a level of achievement will notify their Coach. The coach will appropriately recognize the level of achievement. Pictures may be posted to the United social media page.

Helpful Tips -

  1. Start Small. Dedication and discipline are key! Juggling is not easy, be patient. Dedication will pay off in the long run.

  2. Establish A Pattern. It is helpful to establish a pattern with juggling and stick to the pattern. The weaker foot is always one that causes players the most difficulty. The quickest way to become a better juggler and more importantly develop a better touch is to work on the weak foot specifically. (Ex. A pattern for a right footed player could be two left, one right and continue this pattern.)

  3. Set A Goal. The goals can be weekly, monthly and yearly. Try to achieve a certain number of juggles by each period of time. The goals become your target. Start slow and with a reasonable goal and your results will start to improve.
